The Founder

To know what belongs in the UK, you have to understand both where it comes from and where it's going.

Every brand MANSECHANG carries has passed through a single question. Does this deserve to pass through? That judgment is the whole of the business, and it belongs to one person: Hyesun (Kira) Chang.

Born and raised in South Korea, and twenty-five years in the United Kingdom, Kira has spent her career in the rooms where the standard is set — and has lived on both sides of the window MANSECHANG now opens.

Two markets, one judgment

Korea is where these brands come from — its research culture, its clinical precision, its formulation standards. Kira understands that world from the inside: not the marketing of Korean beauty, but the science beneath it, and the difference between what is genuinely exceptional and what is merely new.

The UK is where they are going — and twenty-five years here have taught her exactly what British professionals, clinics and discerning customers trust, question, and require before they will recommend anything. The UK does not want heritage as a story. It wants proof.

Because she holds both, she can stand between them and filter — knowing which brands will earn UK trust, and how to introduce them in the language this market respects.

A career across brand, commerce and culture

Kira's professional life was never confined to a single function. Across houses including Prada, Miu Miu, Valentino, Burberry and Off-White, her work spanned business development in its fullest sense — buying and selection, commercial and people management, marketing, visual direction, and the correct expression of each brand's identity. Work that sits in close, sustained collaboration with creative directors and senior leadership, translating vision into how a brand is bought, presented and performed.

It is there she learned the discipline that now defines MANSECHANG: how to read not just a product, but its place within a brand's entire architecture. Knowing which product belongs in which hands, at which price, for which customer — that is the curator's intelligence. It is what she now brings to skincare and wellness.

A note from Kira Chang

For the UK partner

The market is not short of supply — it is saturated with it, every clinic, pharmacy and retailer offered more than they could ever assess. What is rare is judgment. When a brand reaches a MANSECHANG partner, the filtering is already done: tested, validated, and chosen not for the season but for what it can build over years. Kira brings the operational care of the houses she came from — tailored to each partner’s environment, positioned for their audience, supported as a relationship rather than a transaction. An introduction meant to move a partner’s business forward, deliberately and ahead of the market.

For the brand she represents

Most distribution offer reach. Kira Offers conviction — a reading of the UK market built over twenty-five years inside it, the relationship to place a brand precisely where it belongs, and the credibility to be heard in rooms otherwise closed. She takes on very few; the ones she does, she stands behind completely. For a Korean brands entering the UK, this is the difference between being distributed and being introduced — represented by someone whose own name now depends on the choice. She does not chase trends or measure success in a single season. She builds for longevity: relationships founded on trust, brands given time to take root, makers and parners growing together.
